SEE IT There’s just something special about a camera spitting out an image, and the wait for it to appear seemingly magically to kids of all ages. Continue the motion even after the shutter has closed for a fluid effect. You don’t have to stick to one platform if you want to get some exposure. Feel free to try all methods and figure out which one you like the best. You may find that your local area has plenty of places willing to display your work.

By doing this, you’ll be able to keep all your subjects, whether they’re in the front row or the back row, beautifully sharp. A sports photographer at a football game probably isn’t going to be very good at capturing a surfer catching a wave, nor will he have the right gear for it. I would personally pick a certain type of sport that you’re interested in, and follow that, whether it’s stadium sports, motorsports, or extreme sports.

In general, photographers send image files to clients and let them decide what to do. While some people simply like to post their images on social media, others love to have physical copies of their portraits. Diversify your services and offer them different options. That way, you earn from digital copies and the albums you create from prints. Some event photographers have all their best pictures included in the hourly rate. Others limit how many photos they provide for each hour.
One of my favourite perspectives is from the waterfront facing east, as the bridge appears to rise out of the industrial landscape. Get low enough to the ground to capture the park’s rolling hill and tilt your camera slightly upwards. If you are shooting at night, make sure to hold the camera steady as the lack of light requires longer exposure time. If you have a DSLR or mirrorless camera, bring a tripod, close the aperture, and lengthen the exposure time to get the starburst effect, and – voila! What New York lacks in star cover it makes up for in its vibrant display of twinkling lights.
